OUR PARTNERS

Moja Tu

Moja Tu , a 501(c)(3) organization, was started in January 2013 by Kathy and Christine Kempff to provide educational scholarships to children in Kenya. Moja Tu began by sponsoring 10 students, and grew exponentially over the years to now sponsor almost 150 Kenyan students. They wish to ensure that these children receive not only the financial support needed to finish their education, but also the emotional support from sponsors to help them lead successful lives.

Moja Tu means “Just One” in Swahili. They believe that if they can help just one child earn an education, they will have the knowledge and skills they need to help change the future for their entire community. One Child. One Education. One Future.

Our partnership with Moja Tu began in 2017, when co-founder Kathy Kempff connected us with two children’s programs in Kiserian attended by Moja Tu sponsored students. This relationship has expanded our program to ten additional schools in the Laikipia area and continues to provide support and resources in Kenya including facilitating the venues for our teacher workshops.

African Children’s Choir and Music for Life

The African Children’s Choir is composed of African children, aged 7 to 10 years old. The Choir is a program of a larger international organization called Music for Life, which provides thousands of impoverished children throughout Africa with the education, discipleship and leadership skills needed to rise above their conditions so they can bring positive, lasting change to their families, communities and countries.

Recorders without Borders has partnered with several Music for Life sponsored schools in Kenya to provide teacher training and recorders to the children in their program.

WatotoWorld

In 2015, Simmie Issenberg, founder of Watotoworld Center was the first to say, “Yes!” to our idea of sending music teachers to Kenya to share musical instruments and instruction. We are forever grateful to Simmie for her tireless efforts on behalf of Recorders without Borders!
